The Gold Hook Fishing School project was born from a deep passion for the sea and for sport and recreational fishing.
The main goal of the Fishing School is to pass on to new generations the respect for the marine ecosystem, knowledge of fish species, and the practice of sport and sustainable fishing.
During the lessons, which are held partly in the classroom at the headquarters in the Tourist Port of La Caletta and partly at sea, young people have the opportunity to learn various concepts related to the macro categories of marine species, knowledge of winds and the practice of knots (thus an approach to the art of seamanship), knowledge of eco-sustainable fishing equipment, the causes and remedies to be implemented to avoid and/or reduce the impact on the marine environment, and respect for its inhabitants through the practice of catch and release (releasing the catch).
The Gold Hook Fishing School project is aimed at anyone with the goal of getting to know the marine environment and preserving it through knowledge and the practice of low environmental impact sport fishing.
